Henry Lawson was the quintessential Australian author of both prose and poetry.

Henry Lawson is embedded in our literary fabric. However, his personal life was far from untroubled, and in 1901 he was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder. He spent several years in mental health institution.
